DUATHLON

The duathlon consists of two sport activities: trail running and paddling. Participants can choose whether to enter solo or as a two-person team. The course is a bit different this year--duathletes will finish the race with their paddle segment:

  • 3 Mile (approximately) Trail Run. Duathletes start the duathlon with the ~3 mile trail run. They will finish their run and head immediately to their boats staged on the beach.
  • 2 Mile Canoe/Kayak Race This paddle starts and ends at St. Pat's Park. Paddlers head upstream (south) to the first bridge (Auten Rd.) and then downstream (north) back to St. Pat's for the finish between the timing dock and the first buoy.

Prizes will be awarded to the following participant divisions:

The canoe/kayak segment can be completed in a canoe or a kayak. A limited number of two-person aluminum canoes are available for those who do not have their own boats (REGISTER EARLY TO ENSURE A BOAT!).

Important: A team's time will be its canoe/kayak race time added to its trail running time. A Duathlon Team must paddle tandem in the same boat.

Register early to ensure a canoe, if needed!
