COURSE MAPS
Marathon:
This is a multi-looped course.
There are several prime spots to view this 16 mile loop course. The racers start at St. Pat’s, go south (upstream) to the Turn-Around Island (across the street from Pinhook Park). They turn around and go north (downstream) past St. Pat's to the Bertrand Rd. Bridge. They go upstream to the Darden Rd. Bridge, back to St. Pat's, get out at the beach for a portage to the boat dock, back in and around a buoy, up to Auten Rd. and back again finally to St. Pat's Park. All turn-arounds are counter-clockwise except for the island. The island turn-around is clockwise.
Memorial Hospital Intermediate Race
Due to high water conditions, we have changed the course for this year. This year, the Intermediate course starts at St. Pat's and goes south (upstream) to the Auten Rd. Bridge. The paddlers come north (downstream), past St. Pat's, to the Bertrand Rd. Bridge. They then paddle back upstream to the Auten Rd. Bridge. Finally, they come back to St. Pat's Park for the finish. All bridge and buoy turns are done counter-clockwise.
Fluid Fun Fun Race:
The Fun Racers will start at St. Pat’s, go upriver to the Auten Rd. Bridge, then back downriver to St. Pat’s. The turn-around at Auten is counter-clockwise.
Team of Michiana Duathlon
The Duathletes will paddle first and then take off for their trail run. Their paddle course will be the same as the Fun Racers--they start at St. Pat's, go upstream (south) to Auten Rd. and then back to St. Pat's for the finish. They will bring their boats through a special chute at the beach, pull them up and out of the way, then take off running. Their trail run will be the outermost trails along the perimeter of the park. A map of their run can be found here. They will finish by running down the innertubing hill that runs behind and beside the Brown Barn. Here is a map of the trails at St. Pat's.
Memorial Hospital Team Challenge competition--co-workers race against other businesses in the same course as the Fun Race. The Memorial Hospital Team Challenge is open to any business, organization, church, or club.
