RULES
  1. No motors. Boats to be propelled by human power with hand paddles only.
  2. Coast Guard approved PFD in good condition, i.e., no tears, holes, or rips, etc. for each participant.
  3. One whistle per boat.
  4. Canoe and kayak paddles only. No oar locks.
  5. No alcohol allowed.
  6. Signed waiver mandatory.
  7. Pre-race meeting must be attended.
  8. Race heats will start at their allotted times.
  9. Five minute penalty for false starts.
  10. Two minute penalty for touching Turn-Around Buoys.
  11. Finish must be between Finish Buoys. One minute penalty for missing.
  12. Classes with less than four boats entered may not be awarded prizes.
  13. Sportsman-like conduct required. Paddlefest reserves the right to refuse future race entry and to disqualify anyone who conducts himself or herself in a way unbecoming of an athlete. Fighting, foul language, cheating and other un-sportsmanlike practices will not be tolerated.
  14. Pro-Marathon--cash will be awarded only to classes with 3 or more boats participating.
  15. Only ICF K-1 paddlers in the Pro-Marathon Division qualify for USACK's Marathon National Ranking.
  16. Any disputable matter will be settled at the discretion of the race official.
