RULES
- No motors. Boats to be propelled by human power with hand paddles only.
- Coast Guard approved PFD in good condition, i.e., no tears, holes, or rips, etc.
for each participant.
- One whistle per boat.
- Canoe and kayak paddles only. No oar locks.
- No alcohol allowed.
- Signed waiver mandatory.
- Pre-race meeting must be attended.
- Race heats will start at their allotted times.
- Five minute penalty for false starts.
- Two minute penalty for touching Turn-Around Buoys.
- Finish must be between Finish Buoys. One minute penalty for missing.
- Classes with less than four boats entered may not be awarded prizes.
- Sportsman-like conduct required. Paddlefest reserves the right to refuse future race entry and to disqualify anyone who conducts himself or herself in a way unbecoming of an athlete. Fighting, foul language, cheating and other un-sportsmanlike practices will not be tolerated.
- Pro-Marathon--cash will be awarded only to classes with 3 or more boats participating.
- Only ICF K-1 paddlers in the Pro-Marathon Division qualify for USACK's Marathon National Ranking.
- Any disputable matter will be settled at the discretion of the race official.
